Not a lot of sewing progress this week so far. Work has been crazy and will be through the next week. This week is also the basketball regionals (girls)/sectionals (boys). Last night the girls played and they lost. They just played flat all night. Friday night the boys will play and they will be the underdogs. But it's never a given, that's why they play the game.
Saturday I'm helping MIL bathe and groom the puppies. Three of them will be going to their new homes. The rest will be leaving the following week. After, I'm hoping to run to the LQS for their Leap Year sale....29% off thread. I need (ok, want) to buy more colors so I have more variety.
I have done really good this month on not buying. I still have almost $100 left in my budget. Although March may be difficult to stay on track because there are a lot of quilt shows and shop hops. I will try to behave.
The goal for the rest of the week is to finish the Golden Memories block I started on Monday. I also need to figure out a backing for Rock Around the Block so I can start quilting it. I'm torn what to do next...another scrap charity top or one of the PP projects on my "to-do" list. There also is a QOV mystery starting March 1. I could start that. I'll have to see what I feel like working on the next time I'm in the sewing room.

More of the Same
It's more of the same here....snow, cold, work, and sewing. I made a lot of progress in the sewing room this past weekend since the weather was icky again. Sunwashed is halfway quilted, two more Golden Memories blocks are done, and Rock Around Blue & Orange pieces are cut and I started sewing them together. Rock Around Blue & Orange is made completely with stash fabrics! Plus I have close to $100 left in my quilting budget for the month. So far it has been a good month!
My goal for the week is to have Sunwashed quilted by Sunday and completed by the end of the month. I also would like to have the Rock Around top completely pieced by the end of the month. That's all for now! Think warm thoughts!

Happy Valentine's Day Eve!!!
Last week I was in a funk so really didn't get any sewing done. But that all changed on Monday when Gary, the Quilter's Anonymous Quilting Bug arrived to give me a little motivation to sew. Since he's arrived, I've completed three more Golden Memories blocks and prepped the backing and batting for Sunwashed.
Last Wednesday I also had a Snow Day. We got around 10 inches and at work they got around 15 inches so I sure was glad I didn't try to go to work. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling that great so I really didn't do much.
Tomorrow (Valentine's Day) we're suppose to get anywhere from 3-8 inches of snow. I'm hoping it will start before I need to leave for work so I can just stay home, but they're saying it's first suppose to start tomorrow afternoon.
My goal is to get Sunwashed quilted this weekend while DH is watching the Daytona 500 stuff on TV. It would be great to get another finish this month!
Once I get Sunwashed completed, I'm going to start cutting fabric for a new project using the Rock Around the Block pattern. I've always wanted to do a blue and orange top so I decided to use those colors in this top.

Another One Bites the Dust

Stars & Stripes is FINISHED!!! I have my third finish of the year and we're only in the first week of February. It feels so good. I haven't started any new projects yet either. My next goal is to finish the four QOV blocks for my QA group. Then I will decide what to do next. Part of me wants to get another finish but I also would like to make a charity top so I can practice more quilting designs.

Groundhog's Day
It's seems like deja vu....it's snowing again today. I hear the groundhog saw his shadow (obviously not here since it's cloudy and snowing). I sure hope he is wrong about 6 more weeks of winter.
I've been busy quilting Stars & Stripes. It turned out good. I still need more practice, but I'm improving. Still need to tweak the stitch regulator a little more. Tomorrow I'll cut the binding strips and get them sewn on.
Today I also played with the puppies while the in-law's were at the specialty dog show. They sure are fun and cuddly now, and Dani is such a good mom. I took a bunch of pictures which I hope to load to my webshots site.
