Week 3 Stash Report

It was a fairly productive week. I finished All Star Kids, the rest of the Happy Blocks, and Block Party blocks. Also, started paper-piecing Diamond Jubilee and cutting the setting fabric for Patchwork Party Summer '08 (PPS08). My total fabric usage for the week was 6 yards. Although I tried being good, I bought an "all or none" Fresh Squeezed fabric that I plan to use for a border or backing with that collection's FQ bundle. Technically this is the first "purchase" of the year as the other fabric in my added total was ordered last year. I'm still in the "black" for net usage.

My numbers to date:
  • Fabric Added: 4 yards
  • Fabric Added to Date: 10 yards
  • Fabric Used: 6 yards
  • Fabric Used to Date: 21.5 yards
  • Net Used: +11.5 yards

Week 4 is "anything" week for me so I can work on whatever I want. Today I'm going to finish loading Santa's Got the Goods on the frame and get it quilted. I also will probably work more on the setting and borders for PPS08.

I'm happy with my progress so far this year. Although I know I won't be able to keep up with quilting/finishing 2-3 tops each month, I'm at least starting to enjoy doing the quilting.

Well, I'd say you did a great job. And sometimes it's smart to buy that extra yardage for those charm packs, etc. because when you finally get around to using it, you won't be able to find it. So--smart move (plus I loved that line of fabric!).

I love the quilt; so bright & cheery.

Good luck keeping up the stash reduction. . .at least you are going in the correct direction!

That's a good report, and a good buy! I used to wait way too long to get fabric I needed to go with bundles and I was often out of luck in finding it. The quilt is wonderful! You're on a roll!

I can't wait to see Santa's Got The Goods. I have made the wall hanging but haven't quilted it yet.

I agree with Karen that's it's smart to buy the yardage that *goes* with your fat quarter bundle now while you can find it. I find it's hard sometimes to find the right border fabric if you're using a really coordinated bundle. Good job on the finishes.
