So on to my goal update. I made quite a bit of progress on sock #2, most of it done on Sunday while watching The Karate Kid marathon. I have about 2 inches to go until I start on the heel. I'm a little nervous about doing the heel, but come hell or high water, I'm gonna get it done.
Since I'm on the subject of knitting, someone in this house ordered MORE sock yarn (Jill, not a peep out of you, lol) and it came today. The top one is Shalimar Yarn in the Billowy colorway. I really like these colors together, but noticed that almost all of my yarn has blue in it. The bottom is Madelinetosh in the Iceberg colorway. I wanted something brighter, and since it IS March, I figured this would be a good choice. Now, NO more buying yarn for the month.
It was a little slow at work today so I left work early. I planned on working on Step Lively, but when I got to the driveway I noticed the neighbor was outside and there was not one, but TWO dogs running around in their yard. Two weeks ago they brought home a St. Bernard puppy. (They lost their St. Bernard last summer to bloat.) So I had to check her out and introduce myself so I didn't get as much sewing time as I had thought. I did manage to get the block rows sewn together and started sewing on the first border. Then I have to decide what to do about the outer border. There isn't enough fabric to make the border as wide as the directions say so either I will make them skinnier, or I'll have to be creative and piece the two purple fabrics together. Hopefully I can get the top finished on Saturday.
This year marks my 15th anniversary where I work. Every 5 years they offer you a "thank you" gift from a catalog of items. This year it took me a while to decide, but I ended up choosing something I originally was going to put on my Christmas list....a wireless printer/copier/scanner. It's not necessarily the one I would have chosen, but hey it's FREE! It was delivered yesterday. Now to get it out of the box and set up, along with the external hard drive I bought over the weekend.
Time to get the needles out and get a couple more rounds closer to that heel!

Love those sock colors!! And the second sock looks great! Love the top!! I would just make a skinnier border to save on trying to figure out anything more strenuous! ;)
