Earlier this week hubby wanted to go to Fleet Farm so I checked out their trees. Last year I saw they had some variegated maples but by the time I got back with a bigger vehicle they were gone. This year I was in luck (first picture). I also saw they had a Linden tree but it was pretty crooked so I passed on that one. (There are a bunch of Linden trees at work, and I love the smell of their flowers which are starting to bud now.) The following day we had some other shopping to do near another Fleet Farm so I made hubby stop to see if they had any Linden trees. You betcha! It's a little droopy but hopefully it'll perk up now that it's planted. Since we got so much rain the last couple of days, it was very easy to dig the holes. Hopefully this time next year they'll be a little bit bigger.
Does anyone know what these caterpillars are?
I'm thinking they'll be gypsy moths.
They're on my mountain ash tree.
