Washington Medallion - Step 2

Yesterday I finished cutting the HSTs so I was able to attach the "floater" border and the HST border to complete Step 2.  The HSTs were paper-pieced which I normally don't do.  They turned out good once I sewed the correct colors together.  If your seams aren't always accurate, the floater border helps everything fit by adding or reducing the width so it will "fit" the next pieced border.

The next step is another floater border and a checkboard border!
