Goals

For whatever reason, I woke up around 4 a.m. and started thinking about next year.  Before we know it, it's going to be 2011.  Have you thought about your plans/goals?  I have been.  Actually I started thinking about them back in July already.  How sad is that?!?!

With the uncertainty of hubby's job and the slow season coming where I work, my main goal is to cut my spending....drastically!  A couple of weeks ago I totalled up what I've spent on fabric/quilting supplies and yarn this year.  While quilting wasn't too bad, the knitting was shocking.  It seems when I start a new hobby (or collection), I go overboard.  I can't stop accumulating because I find all these projects I want to make.  It's new and exciting, what more can I say!  After a while (sometimes a long while), it sinks in that I can't possibly use everything or (sadly) I lose interest.  So, I am planning on joining a sock club at the beginning of the year and then only buy yarn for specific projects, and only when I'm ready to start that project.  Wish me luck!

I do have several other goals but you'll have to wait until we get closer to see them.

What are your goals for 2011?  Will you do anything differently?  Will you learn a new hobby/technique?

Yes - I have already started thinking about 2011 and making goals. I've looked at my stashbusting goals and I need to start thinking about general goals. My main one is just doing a real good cleanout of my house - but right now, I am going to start with a cleanup of all the leaves in the yard.

Good luck with posting your weekly goals - I was thinking of it but it always seems to cover the same areas (exercise, paperwork, housework, garden work, "history" and "me time")

I have to think about my goals, too. I think that it is fair to say that I went a little overboard with my goals for 2010 so I will be scaling back some. How much is hard to say! But cutting back on the spending is a way to start....

Yes, been thinking about the coming year. I have started to applique-but I have quite a bit of fabric in my stash, no investment there of any big $$$. Purchases lately were background, backing, a few yards for Christmas presents. about 10 yards of a soft TOT orange, it may be backing and sashing for blocks I am working on.
I feel pretty good about my purchases and looking forward to next year.

Other goals--less baking/cooking.

Try to pick one area to sort/toss items. This week it was our closet.

I've asked the upper management for a treadmill. Well, FIRST I asked for a bigger newer camper. Corporate answer--not in the budget at this time. Maybe the treadmill will do better!
