First I went to Kohls because I had a 30% off my entire order. I wanted to look for summer tops for work and I found several! According to their receipt, I "saved" $98. Then decided to stop at Michael's since I don't get to that side of town too often. I found some pink Bernat Softee baby yarn marked down to $1/skein, plus some discounted rotary cutter blades. Also in the picture is one skein of Malabrigo. It was funny because the first color I picked up to look at was the exact colorway I bought in Ohio. The other skein is Misti Alpaca and is very soft. The owner mentioned to me that the colorway was called Wisconsin which I hadn't even noticed.
When I was in Ohio, Jill brought her sweater book (Saturday Style) for me to look at. I liked a bunch of the patterns so I decided to buy it. I really liked the sweater shown below and found some yarn by the same manufacturer, Araucania, in Ruca Multy, color #3 (yellow, coral, lilac and blue). It's 100% SUGAR CANE! (Hopefully it doesn't dissolve if it gets wet.) Who would have thought? It was a little expensive, but so super soft. I absolutely LOVE this yarn.
It was a great day!
Birdseye Update: All 25 star blocks are complete, and I'm ready to start on the alternate 9 patch blocks.
