Yarn Report - Week Ending 2/7/14
I made it! I've beat my previous record of 31 days without buying yarn! I'm not done yet either! My official count is 35 days without buying yarn.
I am still working on Dianthe so nothing to count out there. Hopefully I'll be able to count my Ravellenic cowl out in the near future.
In my previous post (On the Needles), I mentioned how slowly the yarn stash seems to go OUT, compared to how quickly it adds up when it comes IN. I was looking at my numbers, and I've only actually KNIT 559 yards so far this year. That is pretty sad, especially since I AM knitting quite a bit. A nice reminder that I don't NEED any more yarn.
The other day I was wondering if there was a certain month(s) that I bought more yarn. I came up with this chart based on my stash in Ravelry. For those of you who may not know, you can download an Excel spreadsheet* of your stash. (*Provided you have all of your stash entered into Ravelry.) I sorted it by date so I could do a comparison by year. Not that big of a surprise that the warm, summer months I buy less yarn. The funny thing is I thought I had been doing fairly well not buying last year until November. Boy was I wrong! Apparently I was buying all year long. I'm going to keep this updated throughout the year and post it at the end of each month.
Used this Week: 0 yards
Used/Destashed To Date: 3439 yards
Added this Week: 0 yards
Added To Date: 1710 yards
Net Used/Destashed: 1729 yards

If your stash moves slow mine bust be slug pace. I figured you knit much faster than me. It is amazing when you chart it or look at it differently you are able to see how the yarn buying is going. It will be interesting to see the final graph at the end of the year.
Charts are kind of an eye opener, aren't they? Good luck!
