I have a bunch of pictures to show you this week. Shall we start?
Good News: I am decreasing for the cap sleeve for my sweater.
Bad News: I was not able to finish the cap sleeve for my sweater. Can you see why?
I made a lot of progress last Sunday. I was starting to get tired and should have quit but I tried to get a couple more rows knit. When I picked this up on Tuesday, I noticed an error on the second sleeve. When I did the left twist cable, I must have put the stitches to the back instead of the front. I don't know how to fix it. Well I know what needs to be done, but I've never fixed cables before and I'm not brave enough to try it on my own. I may take it to the local LYS to see if someone there can fix it for me.
Until then, I cast on a hat which is almost done. This is the Steinway hat in Madelinetosh Vintage, colorway Cherry. This hat will go with the scarf I knit for the last Camp Loopy project. (Sorry for the bad lighting.)

On the Needles - 11/22/13
The sleeves are growing! I had a little more knitting time this week. I feel like I'm forcing myself to keep going on them though. I haven't really felt like knitting much lately. I think I'm ready to move onto something new. I'm sure you all are ready to see something new too. After reading other's blogs/comments, I'm not the only one who has lost the knitting mojo.
Back to what this post is really about. The sleeves are currently at 12.5 inches. According to the pattern I should knit to 16-3/4 inches but then they'll be too long for my arms. I'll probably knit another 2 or 2.5 inches and then start the sleeve cap.

On the Needles - 11/15/13
Here is my progress on the sleeves for Gelsomina. You'd think that with the colder weather I would have more time to knit, but between vacation, work and class I haven't had much time. When I do have a spare moment, I'm usually too tired to knit. I'm hoping I can have this done before the end of the year.

Yarn Report - Week Ending 11/15/13
I missed last week's post because I was on vacation. There has been no new yarn to report. We were so busy on vacation that I didn't even visit a yarn store! I think that's a first for me.
Used this Week: 0 skein
Used since August: 7 skein
Added this Week: 0 skeins
Added since August: 94 skeins
Net Used since August: -87 skeins
I still only plan on buying yarn for the Eat.Sleep.Knit Black Friday sale. ESK has not officially said they'll be having it this year though. Just in case there is a sale, I've been going through my Ravelry queue/favorites and making a list of yarn for the projects that need yarn.
Over the last two weeks I have been going through my entire Ravelry favorites list and have deleted patterns that I don't like as much or know I'll never make. When I started I had over 1500 patterns favorited (any surprise why my blog name is InfinityQuilter / Knitter!?!?). Now the list has been slashed down to just over 450!
My goal for the rest of the year and going forward is to be more selective about what I put in my favorites. I'm also not going to get caught up in the hype when a new pattern comes out. I'll put the pattern in my favorites first and wait a couple weeks to see if I still like it before buying.

Yarn Report - Week Ending 11/1/13
I was weak last week and ordered two sweater quantities of yarn. The first order was a result of reading about everyone's yarn purchases at Rhinebeck the previous weekend. Everyone was raving about the cormo yarn they bought, or that they wished they had bought. Of course I had to find out what all the fuss was about, so I ordered 7 skeins.
After seeing Jill's Capra swatch for the Dianthe sweater, I decided I couldn't hold off ordering any longer. I still need to swatch but otherwise I'm ready for our informal Dianthe knit-along in January.
I also received one skein from the Woolen Rabbit yarn club. Sorry I didn't get a picture of it, but it's grey also. Guess I'm on a grey kick at the moment.
Used this Week: 0 skein
Used since August: 7 skein
Added this Week: 22 skeins
Added since August: 94 skeins
Net Used since August: -87 skeins (wow, what a sobering number!)
No more yarn buying (planned) this year except for maybe the Eat.Sleep.Knit Black Friday sale.

On the Needles - 11/1/13
Just in the nick of time for this post, I finished the front of my Gelsomina sweater!!! My plan is to cast on the sleeves two at a time so when I bind off they'll be done.
I'm already thinking what my next project will be, but in reality I shouldn't be starting a new project any time soon. It will take me a while to knit the sleeves. Then I still have to seam everything together which I've been known to procrastinate on. Once Gelsomina is finished, I should go back to Charleston Tea and finish the buttonband so I can mark that as a finish too. Then I'd be able to record two sweater quantities worth of yarn as used on my yarn report (which would help my numbers tremendously). That way I can start Dianthe in January and the New Year with a clean slate. What are you going to cast on next?
