A Haunting We Will Go Fabric

I didn't get much done today. My allergies kept me up most of the night so I didn't have much motivation today. However, I did manage to get all of the rows sewn together and the first border on A Haunting We Will Go. Two more borders and the applique to go.

A couple people asked about the background fabric on A Haunting We Will Go, but I couldn't reply because I didn't have an email because their account is set up for "no reply".

The fabric is from last year's Tricks or Treats Too collection by Marcus Fabrics. You can go to Quiltshop and search for "Tricks or Treats too" and several stores still have it.

Week #35 Stash Report

I have a couple of goosechicken eggs this week. Nothing in and nothing out.

Here are my numbers to date:
  • Fabric Added: 0 yards
  • Fabric Added to Date: 98 yards
  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Used to Date (goal 150): 119 yards
  • Net Used: 21.00 yards
So how am I doing? I was hoping to keep my "enhancement" to under 100 yards but with my monthly FQ bundles, Madison Quilt Show, and shop hop coming up, I know I'll go over that. My new goal is to stay under 150 which I still would consider a successful year since last year I added 374 yards (ouch). I've already used 17 yards more than all of last year. And there are still four more months to go. There may be hope for me and this stashbusting yet.

My goal for this week is to get the rest of the A Haunting We Will Go rows sewn together and start on borders. There are several windows and a bat that has to be appliqued on too.

Puppy Update - Week 4

Aren't they getting cute?? (Not that they weren't before, but they're really looking like Samoyed puppies now, with all that fur.) They're starting to get teeth and MIL has started feeding them "mush". They're also moving around a lot more. Every day they get to "play" with toys outside of their kennel and the whelping box has been removed since some are getting out and then whining because they can't get back in.

I love this picture...mom and puppy taking snooze.

It's this one adorable...sucking/chewing on mom's ear.

Puppy Update - Week 3

Sorry, I thought I had posted these last week. They've grown a little since these were taken.

A Haunting We Will Go

Here's A Haunting We Will Go laid out on the design wall. I just need to finish the pathway HSTs and I can start piecing it together.

Week #34 Stash Report

The weather has been pretty cool/rainy this week, so I got in some sewing time. I finished the Deck the Halls top and started on A Haunting We Will Go. I used 6 yards and added nothing! So a pretty good week I'd say!

Here are my numbers to date:
  • Fabric Added: 0 yards
  • Fabric Added to Date: 98 yards
  • Fabric Used: 6 yards
  • Fabric Used to Date (goal 150): 119 yards
  • Net Used: 21.00 yards
I know that this year isn't over yet, but I've already been thinking about next year's stashbusting/quilting goals. I have half of a closet and one dresser filled with kits/PIGS (projects in grocery sacks) that I've decided will be my priority the rest of this year and next year. Also on my list is to work on the ever growing pile of tops waiting to be quilted, which I'll work on during the winter months.

Deck the Halls Top

Deck the Halls is now a top. (The pattern is from Frosted Memories.) It's been added the huge pile of tops waiting to be quilted. I think I need to set aside a weekend to just quilt tops, but I so would rather piece them than quilt them. Speaking of piecing, I am now starting to work on cutting fabric for the A Haunting We Will Go top which was in the Quick Quilts November 2008 issue.

I also am going to start making blocks for the Patchwork Party Winter 2008 top. There is a new Patchwork Party Fall edition starting Sept. 1, but I don't really care for the fabric line so I decided to work on one that I already have here instead.

Happy Friday!

At least I'm hoping it'll be a happy Friday. Today I am having my right eye laser surgery. I'm hoping it goes as good (or even better) as the left eye. Today is suppose to be cloudy and rainy so I won't be blinded by the sun when I leave. My eyes are so dilated from those drops. The last time there was only a sliver of brown showing.

The assistant shouldn't have a problem holding my head against the chin rest either because I'll probably be sleeping through the procedure. I was really hoping I'd luck out this year, but allergy season has arrived and for the past 3 nights I have not gotten a decent night's sleep. I wish ragweed would become extinct. ;0) This weekend I'm going to try a Neti pot to cleanse my nasal passages. My doctor swore by it last year but by the time she told me, the allergy season was over. So fingers crossed that it works because the Nasonex doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore and Flonase didn't work at all.

I'll see how I feel tonight. I have the pieced border for Deck the Halls sewn together and just have to sew it to the center square. I'd sure like to finish the top this weekend!

Puppy Update - 2-1/2 weeks old

Monday we went to socialize with the puppies. They had just eaten a huge meal and most of them were wiggly and whiny. Brown boy was the only one that I held that was cuddly and happy to be held. Isn't he a cutie?!?!?

Deck the Halls Progress

Monday I finished sewing the center rows together. Today I made some progress on the borders. I have to finish the pieced border and then add one red strip outer border to complete the top.

Puppy Update - 2 Weeks Old

They're really getting round now, plus their eyes are opening, they're starting to motor around on their legs and starting to hear noises/sounds.

Quilt Shops

This past week we went to Eagle River on a mini-vacation with my SIL and her family. Of course I had to check if there were any quilt shops on the way. I got lucky and found two shops.

The first was Karen's Quilt Shop which was right in Eagle River. I bought the Claire handbag pattern, Don't Drink and Fly witch applique pattern, 1 yard of Kansas Winter fabric, Quilter's Peace book by Gathering Friends, and the bobbin tower. It was a nice little shop and the owner was very nice.

On the way home we stopped at The Cutting Edge in Antigo. They are one of the sponsors for Nancy's Notions so I was excited to check them out. I only bought the Opening Day pattern. I was a little disappointed with their store. They had some of the newer fabric lines, but the majority of their stuff was older fabrics and patterns.
