Carabe

The knitting on Carabe is complete. It's currently drying after it's bath. I still need to weave in the ends and sew the buttons on. This took 1072 yards which I'm putting towards my 2014 totals. I'll still end up in the red for the year, but this will help a little bit.

Yesterday I swatched for BlueSand so I'll be ready to go tomorrow (or shortly thereafter).

I'm excited to see that Eat.Sleep.Knit (Ravelry link) has posted several KAL (knit-along) threads on their Ravelry forum to earn yardage in the 2015 yarnathon for those of us who are trying to stashbust. Almost all of the yarn I ordered this year from ESK is for a specific project so I should be in good shape to bust stash AND earn yardage on the yarnathon. I'm also curious to see how they'll do the teams for next year.

On the Needles - 12/27/14

It's been a while since I've posted any progress. With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I lost my knitting mojo for a bit. Now that things are quieting down, I decided to get going on Carabe again. I told myself I can't start another project until I finish this. Sleeve #1 is done. I'll be starting Sleeve #2 shortly.

On the Needles - 12/5/14

I finished the button-band this week. Man did that take a lot longer than I had expected. I have ordered buttons which I hope will be close to the aqua stripes color. They shipped yesterday so maybe next week's picture will include buttons. Now I'm off to sleeve island! Funny how in my mind I always think I can get so much done, but then I get distracted with Ravelry or just don't have the energy after a long day at work.  My goal for next week is to have both sleeves started and the buttons (provided they look OK) sewn on.

On the Needles - 11/28/14

The body should be bound off but I was a bit distracted this week. I finished the body and all that's left is to bind off the ribbing. Next up is the button-band and collar. If I'd get off the dang computer, I just might have some progress pictures for you next week.

After I took this picture, I finished the last contrast stripe. I should be able to start the ribbing Sunday since we have a busy day tomorrow. I have to work Monday-Wednesday next week but hopefully can a good start on the sleeves at the end of the week.

Carabe was put aside for a little bit so I could finish my second hat for the ESK challenge. Now I can concentrate just on Carabe. I'm ready to split for the sleeves and body.

On the Needles - 11/7/14

Carabe is currently on the needles. There hasn't been much time to knit during the week, so it hasn't changed much since Sunday. I just started the second Carabe stripe. I'm using my lovely, new Knitted Wit Victory DK yarn. Yum!
