On the Needles - 3/21/14

I'm almost ready for the armhole shaping on sleeve #1. I'm starting to get bored with Dianthe. I may cast on a small accessory item this weekend to mix it up a bit.

On the Needles - 3/14/14

Sleeve #1 is currently up to my elbow.

On the Needles - 3/7/14

I finished the waffle scarf earlier this week. The body of Dianthe is also finished. It's currently blocking since the edges were curling like crazy.

Now I'll be on sleeve island for the foreseeable future. The pattern calls for 3.5 inches of garter stitch for the hem, but I'm only going to do 1.5 inches and add one extra cable repeat to make up for the difference. Since the picture was taken, I have started on the cable design.

On the Needles - 2/28/14

This week I made quite a bit of progress. I took some Mental Health days off of work which left me with some knitting time.  The Knitting Ninja group is getting together this weekend so I figured I should make some progress on the waffle scarf. I should be able to finish it next week.

I made a little bit of progress on the back shaping for Dianthe. Although I LOVE the look of cables, I don't necessary like knitting them all the time. I get bored after a while so I have been procrastinating a bit on this.

On the Needles - 2/21/14

I didn't make much progress this week. We were gone almost every night and this winter weather is taking it's toll on me so I didn't feel like knitting when I did get the chance. The right and left front shaping is done. The back shaping has been started.

On the Needles - 1/24/2014

On Wednesday I cast on for the Dianthe cardigan. So far it doesn't look like much. I knit the hem and the first four rows of the chart. (The picture is just of the hem.) I think I'm going to write out the chart though because currently the charts are on three separate pages (left front, back, and right front). I'm constantly flipping back and forth and it's taking too much time.

The pattern calls for 2 inches of hem but I don't like how that looks so I only did 1.25 inches. Since this is bottom up, I'm a little concerned that it may not be long enough. I'm short though and usually have to shorten patterns. Hopefully it will turn out alright, otherwise I'll just add to the hem later.
