Ampersand Sock #1

Over the weekend I finished the heel and started on the leg of sock#1.  I followed the instructions for the gusset, but when I tried it on (after the heel was complete) it fits a little snug.  I guess I need to knit a little further for sock#2.

There is a little bit of pooling on the heel and on the front just before the leg starts, otherwise it's more stripey.  Since I took these pictures on Sunday, I have added about 2.5 inches on the leg.  Almost done!

Judy's Pooling Challenge

Judy is having a pooling sock challenge.  I haven't knit socks in a couple yearswhile, but I am thinking about taking the challenge.  I knew right away that I wanted to try Lorna's Laces Solemate yarn because it's made with Outlast which is supposed to interact with your body's temperature so your feet don't get too cold or too warm.  The tough decision was choosing the colorway, but my "Box of Fun" arrived earlier this week.  I chose the "Cool" colorway which has light blue, medium blue and grey.

I still have to choose the pattern.  I'm currently thinking Brainless, Blue Suede Socks, Thamnophis, Waffle House.  I also like the Spiral Eyelet, but it's top-down and I prefer toe-up socks so I can knit until I run out of yarn.  I have a little time to think about it yet since I won't be casting on until next week at the earliest.
